Kauffman Gas expands propane operations into New Jersey

Kauffman Gas, based in Atglen, Pennsylvania, acquired Penn-Jersey Propane Gas Co., based in Medford, New Jersey. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Family-owned and -operated Penn-Jersey Propane specializes in residential propane service. It operates a bulk plant and several bobtails in the greater Philadelphia area and southern New Jersey.

Kauffman Gas has delivered propane to residences and businesses in southeastern Pennsylvania and northern Delaware for more than 75 years. The acquisition of Penn-Jersey Propane expands Kauffman’s footprint into southern New Jersey.

Commercial real estate brokerage and advisory firm Vantage Commercial advised Penn-Jersey Propane on the sale. Ken Richardson, executive director at Vantage Commercial, worked with Bob Campbell, owner of Penn-Jersey Propane, to source a buyer for the off-market asset, according to the firm.
