Longtime president of Quality Steel Corp. transitioning into new position
After serving for more than 40 years as president of Quality Steel Corp., Jim Tims will relinquish his role and assume the newly created position of CEO, effective Aug. 1, the manufacturer of propane and anhydrous ammonia tanks announced.
Tims will continue to maintain general oversight of the organization, but he will no longer manage the day-to-day operations of the Mississippi-based company.
Virgil Mullins will succeed Tims as president and will have responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including sales, manufacturing and finance. Mullins has been with Quality Steel since 1994 and has served the company in various roles, including operations manager, vice president of operations and COO.
In making the announcement, Tims indicated that he and Mullins are closely aligned regarding the future direction of the company and that its customers, vendors and employees can continue to expect the same “family approach” to the business.
