Manchester cylinders recalled

April 10, 2013 By

Manchester Tank & Equipment Co. has recalled its 100-pound propane cylinders because of a fire hazard that exists as a result of fuel being able to leak from the thread connection between the cylinder and valve.

About 7,500 units are being recalled. The units in question were manufactured between January and September 2012. The tanks were sold nationwide at propane dealers and distributors, hardware stores, welding equipment supply stores, farm and home stores, and equipment rental outlets between January 2012 and March 2013.

No incidents or injuries have been reported to date. Consumers can visit the company’s website at www.mantank.com for instructions on having their cylinder inspected by a propane equipment dealer and repaired if needed.
