MFA Oil acquires D&D Oil

June 9, 2022 By

MFA Oil Co., a farmer-owned energy supply cooperative, acquired the propane and refined fuel operations of D&D Oil Co., an independent retailer headquartered in Wheaton, Missouri.

The acquisition included a storage location in Cassville, Missouri, trucks, tanks, employees and customer accounts.

“We are thrilled to welcome the top-notch team of employees from D&D Oil to the MFA Oil family,” says Kenny Steeves, senior vice president of MFA Oil operations, in a press release. “This acquisition complements our current operations in southwest Missouri very well.”

Steve DeCocq, president of D&D Oil, retired.

“When my wife, Brenda, and I decided to retire, it was imperative to us that we find a company that we believed would have the best culture to take care of our customers and our employees,” says DeCocq in a press release. “MFA Oil was hands-down the best fit.”

MFA Oil says it continues to evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities in its existing market areas and other regions where it can expand its footprint.

MFA Oil, formed in 1929, is a farmer-owned cooperative with more than 40,000 members. It supplies fuels, lubricants and propane to customers in Missouri, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Through a subsidiary, it operates Break Time convenience stores in Missouri and a Big O Tires franchise in Missouri and Arkansas.

The company is the ninth-largest propane retailer in the U.S. by retail gallons sales, according to the 2022 LP Gas Top Propane Retailers ranking.
