Missouri Propane Council elects 2025 directors, officers
The Missouri Propane Education and Research Council (MOPERC) elected its directors and officers for 2025. MOPERC consists of 15 volunteer members who guide the efforts of the council to promote the safe use of propane through education, training and research.
All directors elected are professionals in the propane industry and will serve three-year terms, while officers serve for one year. MOPERC programs are administered by executive staff. The installations occurred at the council’s winter board meeting in Ridgedale, Missouri.
The elected officers include:
- Chair – Brian Brooks, Brooks Gas
- Vice chair – Jeff Reitz, Central States Bus
- Treasurer – Derek Poe, Missouri Propane Safety Commission

- Wholesale 2 – Jeff Miller, Ferrellgas
- Wholesale 3 – Ray Phillips, Growmark Energy
- Retail 1 – Nick Goodrich, Goodrich Gas
- Retail 2 – Jason Harville, MFA Oil
- Retail 3 – Jessica Haden, AmeriGas
- Retail 4 – Samantha Reed Johnson, Reed Oil
- Retail 5 – John Brokes, Big River Oil
- Retail 6 – Clayton Uthe, MFA Oil
- Retail 7 – Mitch Dane, Chilton Oil
- Retail 8 – Roger Hoff, Hoff Brothers
- Retail 9 – Brian Brooks, Brooks Gas
- Affiliated 1 – Steve Clayton, Gas Equipment Co.
- Affiliated 2 – Jeff Reitz, Central States Bus
- Public member – Derek Poe, Missouri Propane Safety Commission
The council also recognized outgoing members Mark Porth, Kent Metcalf and its previous chair, Tim Peach.
MOPERC is a not-for-profit organization authorized by the Missouri legislature. The council has established two funding programs to help companies reduce emissions: the Lawn Equipment Assistant Fund for professional landscape contractors who upgrade their equipment to propane and the Clean Bus Program, which provides $2,000 rebates to Missouri schools that acquire propane buses.
