New Arizona law protects Good Samaritans who know propane

May 9, 2012 By

A new Good Samaritan law in Arizona removes liability from a person with knowledge of LP gas who is providing assistance in an accident or other emergency situation, the Arizona Propane Gas Association (APGA) announced.

“Arizona propane industry members worked hard to get this legislation approved,” said Mike Best, president of APGA and district manager of AmeriGas and ServiGas Propane in Tucson, Ariz., in a press release. “Our members regularly assist law enforcement and first responders with propane incidents and deserve to be shielded from liability for doing so.”

According to APGA Executive Director Baron Glassgow, the Arizona Fire Districts Association, Arizona Fire Fighters Association and the Arizona Fire Chiefs Association supported the legislation.
