OPW creates Propane Energy Solutions business unit
OPW, a Dover company, will divide its OPW Clean Energy Solutions business into two distinct units: Clean Energy Solutions (CES) and Propane Energy Solutions (PES).
The existing CES unit will feature technologies from both the ACME Cryogenics and RegO Products brands and focus on the cryogenics, hydrogen, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and other industrial gas markets. Chad Thomas leads the CES unit.
The new PES unit will be the home of RegO Products and concentrate on serving customers in the liquid propane gas (LPG) and anhydrous ammonia (NH3) markets. Chuck Liebal leads the PES unit.
“At OPW, we are constantly looking for ways to improve so that we can better serve our customers, and the creation of these two distinct business units is a perfect example of that,” says Kevin Long, president of OPW. “Each unit is being tailored to meet the unique needs of its respective business sectors, with dedicated teams driving all innovation and growth.”
At OPW PES, the goal is to increase awareness that LPG is a “green” alternative for traditional fossil fuels. The market niches in which LPG can help shape a clean energy future include a wide range from residential heating to industrial agriculture applications, according to OPW.
OPW CES will focus on creating products and solutions that optimize the storage, supply and transport infrastructure for cryogenics, hydrogen, LNG and industrial gases in the heavy-duty truck, aerospace, aviation, railroad, marine, semiconductor and food-and-beverage industries. OPW CES launched a new line of hydrogen-refueling nozzles and is currently developing additional components, such as valves, fittings and vacuum-jacketed pipes for use in these markets.
OPW makes aboveground and underground products for conventional, vapor-recovery and clean energy applications in the retail and commercial markets. It supplies loading arms, valves and dry-break couplings, tank-truck equipment, rail car valves and equipment, and vehicle wash systems. OPW has manufacturing operations in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific, with sales offices around the world.
In 2021, ACME Cryogenics and RegO were acquired by Dover Corp. and became founding members of OPW Clean Energy Solutions, which is housed within the Dover Clean Energy & Fueling business segment.
Established in 1969 and headquartered in Allentown, Pennsylvania, ACME Cryogenics provides components and services that facilitate the production, storage and distribution of cryogenic gases used in a variety of applications. ACME Cryogenics supplies engineered components such as valves, vacuum-jacketed piping, fittings, LNG fueling components and other specialty flow-control devices.
Founded in 1888 and headquartered in Elon, North Carolina, RegO Products manufactures and supplies gas-control products for use in the industrial gas and liquefied cryogenics industries. RegO specializes in the development of cryogenic valves, regulators, storage and containment systems, and recently completed development of a nozzle for use in the transfer of LNG.
