Otodata, a Montreal-based company that manufactures propane tank monitoring systems, invited customers to its headquarters to tour its manufacturing facility. LP Gas Brand Manager Brian Kanaba attended the tour.

The tour began on the main production floor, where guests witnessed the process of monitor assembly, including programming and testing the PC boards, as well as fitting it with batteries and sealing it hermetically. After that, cables are attached and the monitor enclosures are ultrasonically sealed, ensuring a seamless, waterproof finish, according to the company.

The next part of the tour included a stop at the surface mount technology (SMT) facility a block away. At this facility, PC boards are populated with components using advanced SMT. Guests were equipped with anti-static gear before entering the cleanroom environment.
