Pinnacle Propane expands in Texas, acquires West Gas Service

August 28, 2019 By

Pinnacle Propane, a division of SHV Energy, acquired West Gas Service Co.

West Gas Service, a central Texas-based residential and commercial propane distributor, represents the sixth acquisition executed by Pinnacle Propane since becoming part of SHV Energy.

“This acquisition along with Pinnacle Propane’s recent acquisitions in New Mexico, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Illinois represent our strong commitment to developing our footprint in existing and expansion markets,” says Bill Webb, Pinnacle’s senior vice president of mergers & acquisitions and business development. “It has been exciting working with companies that align with our family values and the commitment to customer service, safety and the future.”

Pinnacle Propane was formed in 2010 through the acquisition of several retail propane companies in central, south and west Texas. Its parent company, SHV Energy, is based in the Netherlands. In 2017, SHV acquired American Midstream Partners’ propane business, including Pinnacle Propane’s 40 service locations; Pinnacle Propane Express’ cylinder exchange business and related logistic assets; and the Alliant Gas utility system, for $170 million.
