Propane extraction equipment planned for Louisiana facility

Crosstex Processing Services LLC selected UOP LLC to build and install fractionation equipment, designed to extract propane and ethane derived from shale gas, at the Crosstex facility in Plaquemine, La., UOP announced. The fractionators will have the capability to handle 100,000 barrels per day of mixed natural gas liquids, extracting propane and ethane for petrochemical use, with startup scheduled for 2014. Crosstex is a subsidiary of Crosstex Energy LP, while UOP is a Honeywell company.
