Learning from every opportunity
As Arriaga reflects on his past educational experiences, he believes he’s learned in three primary ways: formal learning, professional development and hands-on experience. To steadily grow as a professional, he’s remained curious while seeking to learn from every opportunity.
“Over the years, I’ve continued building my knowledge in logistics, operations, technology and leadership. Those experiences have shaped how I approach problem-solving and decision-making today.”
A top fleet operator
Recently, Arriaga was recognized by Samsara as one of its “100 Fleet Operators to Watch in 2026.” This has been a “tremendous honor” for him. However, he realizes this award isn’t just tied to his successes, as it reflects his entire team’s achievements.
“We’re focused on building a best-in-class logistics operation by using technology in practical ways that support our field teams, improve safety, increase efficiency and help us make smarter operational decisions.”
Making a difference
Looking back at the Samsara awards presentation, Arriaga is still surprised, grateful and proud. To this day, it showcases one key point above anything else: His team’s work is “making a difference.” In fact, the award has motivated him to challenge himself even more while also continuing to learn and improve.
“It reinforces my passion for finding practical ways to use technology and data to support teams, strengthen operations and better serve customers.”
Surrounded by strong leaders
During his career with Ferrellgas, Arriaga has been “surrounded by strong leaders and teammates.” Each of these individuals has helped him learn how technology will support operations, safety, and customers’ and employees’ experiences, leading to long-term success.
While consistently learning and receiving new opportunities, he’s steadily expanded his understanding of the industry, resulting in a career that “connects technology, logistics and operations.” Most importantly, his work has had “a real impact on employees, customers and the communities” that Ferrellgas serves.
Many parts working together
Through his decades-long propane career at Ferrellgas and Blue Rhino, Arriaga has seen firsthand how “many parts” of a propane business “must work together every day.” He loves the excitement of the industry and the ways it combines asset management, customer service, field operations, logistics, safety and technology – all in a “fast-moving operational environment.”

Focused on growth
In preparation for the future, Arriaga is primarily focused on growing as a leader. He wants to think more strategically, communicate more clearly and lead several initiatives that won’t only “create meaningful impact” for Ferrellgas but each of its teams as well.
In addition, he wants to expand his knowledge – “of the propane industry, logistics, technology and operations leadership.”
“I believe the best leaders are always learning, and I try to approach my career with that mindset.”
Hobbies
When Arriaga isn’t working, he loves to spend time with family and friends, travel, and attend live music events. “I’ve always enjoyed creative and hands-on projects too, especially anything that involves building or making something.”
