South Dakota propane terminal now Growmark owned

December 5, 2013 By

Growmark Inc. acquired the propane terminal from Magellan Pipeline Co. LP in Canton, S.D. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

According to Growmark, this facility provides storage capacity of more than 300,000 gallons. It’s also capable of filling two semitruck tanks simultaneously. The terminal is adjacent to the BNSF Railway, and Growmark says it plans to upgrade the facility with rail-receiving capability. Also, Growmark says this acquisition will bolster its access to propane, expand its propane storage capacity, and enhance Growmark’s ability to provide a reliable supply of propane to its members and customers.

“Our retail division, Star Energy, recently acquired Siouxland Propane, expanding our footprint into the South Dakota geography,” says Kevin Carroll, Growmark’s vice president, energy and logistics. “This terminal will support the expanded footprint and enhance our supply for other areas of our system.”
