Superior Plus experiences cybersecurity incident
Superior Plus Corp. was subject to a ransomware incident on Dec. 12, impacting the company’s computer systems.
Upon learning of the incident, Superior says it took steps to secure its systems and mitigate the impact to its data and operations. The company has retained independent cybersecurity experts to assist it in dealing with the matter in accordance with industry best practices.
As a result, Superior has temporarily disabled certain computer systems and applications as it investigates the incident and is in the process of bringing these systems back online.
Superior is also in the process of assessing the impact to its operations. The company says it currently has no evidence that the safety or security of any customer or other personal data has been compromised.
According to the company, Superior is taking the matter seriously and asks its customers and partners for their patience as it seeks to remediate the situation.
