Legacy Energy Consulting adds director of business development
Dustin Shafer joined Legacy Energy Consulting as the director of business development.

Shafer holds a business management and operations degree from Central Washington University and brings 15 years of experience from owning and operating a retail propane business in Southern California, which served over 3,500 residential customers.
His expertise in the retail propane sector will be instrumental in supporting Legacy Energy Consulting’s clients, whether they are looking to sell their business or optimize and grow their operations through the company’s strategic planning services, according to Legacy.
Shafer resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, with his wife, Katie, and their son, Jack. In his new role, he will join Chad Pendill, Legacy’s founder and president, and Tyler Pendill, the director of sales and marketing. Shafer and the Pendills had partnered earlier this year when Legacy Energy Consulting helped Shafer sell his propane company, Phelan Gas, to an undisclosed buyer.
As the director of business development, Shafer will be involved in all aspects of the merger and acquisition (M&A) services provided by Legacy Energy Consulting. He will lead its strategic planning services, leveraging his experience assisting clients with business decisions and achieving goals, the company says.
Legacy Energy Consulting launched in 2020 and specializes in offering M&A services to propane and refined fuel businesses across the nation.
