Alliance AutoGas plans to complete a 5,500-mile, cross-country trip starting May 2 using a 2016 bi-fuel 3.5-liter Ford F-150 V6 truck.

The trip was dubbed the Alliance AutoGas Coast-to-Coast Clean Air Ride, and the truck will stop in 12 cities. The trip starts at the Richard L. Berkley Riverfront Park in Kansas City, Mo., and will end May 23 in Asheville, N.C.

For the trip, Alliance AutoGas plans to use the Ford F-150 it converted to propane autogas during the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis. The truck will also carry a 2013 Exmark Lazer Z Ultra Cut 60 propane mower in its trunk to educate people about the benefits of propane mowers during the truck’s stops. Stuart Weidie, president and CEO of Blossman Gas and president of Alliance AutoGas, says the trip will serve as an opportunity for the company to share the benefits on propane autogas.

Sponsors of the Alliance AutoGas Coast-to-Coast Clean Air Ride include the Propane Education & Research Council, Bobit Business Media, Work Truck Magazine, the American Lung Association of the Southeast Inc., Blossman Gas, Worthington Industries, Blue Star Gas and thyssenkrupp. Alliance AutoGas adds that the trip can be tracked on social media by searching for the #aagroadtrip hashtag.
