July 9, 2019 By

Blevins Inc., a Nashville, Tennessee-based supplier of housing products, acquired Tri-State Distributors and its nine branch locations across Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi.

“Our company has competed with and known Tri-State Distributors for over 20 years, and we have had the utmost respect for the company and their people,” says Brad Blevins, president of Blevins. “By partnering with Tri-State, we look forward to helping continue the great momentum that the company has and are very excited about the benefits that both companies can get by being a part of the same organization.”

Tri-State will continue to operate its corporate office in Royston, Georgia, and all of its nine locations. Tri-State will be a division of Blevins Inc. and will continue operating as Tri-State Distributors.

“When Brad Blevins and I began talking about merging our two companies, I came to realize that his ideas about what success means in business are the same as mine,” says Tri-State Distributors CEO Steve Williams. “We both believe in taking good care of customers and employees. The transition has been very smooth, and I have agreed to stay on for a while to help ensure that operations continue to run as they should. Overall, I believe this merger will be a win-win for everyone.”

Blevins was founded in 1971 and has been family owned since that time. It supplies the manufactured housing industry from 13 distribution locations. Blevins’ service area stretches from New Mexico to Maine to Florida. With the acquisition of Tri-State Distributors, Blevins will employ more than 500 associates.

Founded in 1983, Tri-State serves the hearth, heating and gas products industries, as well as the manufactured housing and residential HVAC industries. Primary product lines include gas grills, fireplace logs and heating products, along with HVAC equipment and manufactured housing accessories.
