Coffee company converts vans to propane autogas

January 29, 2013 By

Berres Brothers Coffee Roasters is converting two Ford E-250 vans to propane autogas, with plans to switch additional vehicles as older models retire, its propane-fueling partner announced. The Wisconsin coffee company, which is working with Wisconsin propane retailer Charter Fuels, plans to displace about 7,000 gallons of gasoline annually and in the process save more than $5,000 in fuel costs per vehicle. According to the announcement, Berres Brothers is the first coffee company in the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ Green Tier Program, which recognizes and rewards organizations dedicated to superior environmental performance. Charter Fuels is a partner with Alliance AutoGas, a network of propane providers and conversion centers working to switch fleets to autogas. The network also installs propane fueling infrastructure for its clients.
