Combi-boilers deliver heat, hot water for homes

November 5, 2013 By

NCB Series combi-boilers are capable of simultaneously delivering hydronic heat and unlimited domestic hot water for large homes, according to Navien. The combi-boilers are offered in three models: the NCB-180, NCB-210 and NCB-240. Maximum heating input for hydronic heating is 80,000 Btu per hour, 100,000 Btu per hour and 120,000 Btu per hour, respectively. Domestic hot water flow rates for each model are 3.4 gallons per minute (gpm), 4.0 gpm and 4.5 gpm, respectively. Navien says the combi-boilers feature an advanced negative gas pressure valve that performs even under low-gas pressure conditions. A dual venturi system allows for field convertibility from natural gas to liquid propane operation. To quickly heat water and minimize corrosion, the combi-boilers incorporate the use of dual stainless steel heat exchangers for hydronic heat and a stainless steel flat plate heat exchanger for domestic hot water.
