Crestwood acquires Turner Gas’ wholesale propane division

January 5, 2017 By

Crestwood Services, the supply and logistics unit of Crestwood Equity Partners LP, acquired the wholesale propane division of Turner Gas Co. in Salt Lake City.

Turner Gas was founded in 1939 and grew to become a market leader in the transportation, storage, logistics and marketing of wholesale propane throughout the western and central United States, Crestwood says. The company’s wholesale propane division has marketed and transported propane and natural gas liquids to and from refiners, gas processors, proprietary terminals, fractionators, large retailers and other end users.

Crestwood says it will acquire three propane rail terminals in Nevada and Wyoming. All Turner Gas transport drivers have joined Crestwood, as have propane marketing and distribution team members Lisa Jennings and Mindy Ries.

“We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Turner Gas’ wholesale propane division,” says Vance Harrington, vice president of facilities and transportation for Crestwood’s liquids and crude business units. “Over its 77 years in business, the company built a solid reputation and loyal following, and we look forward to serving Turner Gas Co.’s customers going forward. The addition of Turner Gas’ product and service offerings enhances Crestwood’s capabilities in the western half of the U.S., and we welcome the team members from Turner Gas who have joined our Crestwood family.”
