Propane retailer DCC Propane acquired Colorado-based San Isabel Services Propane.

Headquartered in Pueblo West, Colorado, the residential and commercial propane services company was founded in 2002. Owners Jim and Cathy Wallace purchased the company from San Isabel Electric Co. in 2011.

“San Isabel Services’ impressive record of sustained growth, community focus and a customer-first approach could not be more closely aligned with our own values,” says Matt Dantinne, CEO of DCC Propane. “We look forward to helping the San Isabel team continue to provide the finest local service that exceeds customers’ expectations with every interaction.

This acquisition is another step in DCC’s growth strategy to support increasing energy demand throughout Colorado and the broader Rocky Mountain region, the company says.

“We are pleased to welcome San Isabel Services’ loyal customers and staff into our family as we continue to invest in the important Rocky Mountain market,” Dantinne says. “Colorado is a key strategic growth market for DCC Propane, so we are excited to join forces with one of the region’s most trusted providers.”

San Isabel Services is another Colorado-based acquisition by DCC in the past few years following JC Propane, Affordable Propane, Blue Flame Propane and Enviro Gas. Deluca Gas, a fifth propane supplier owned by DCC in Colorado, is headquartered in Poncha Springs.

“We owe all our success, and everything San Isabel Services stands for, to our family of great, honest, hard-working employees, and our many longtime loyal customers. For that we are truly thankful,” the Wallace’s said in a news release. “We are excited to have found a company for our people to not only further their careers but also thrive in a culture that values employees and customers the way we do.”

Operating in 21 states with 900 employees nationwide, DCC Propane’s acquisition of San Isabel Services marks its 12th acquisition in the U.S. and represents another key investment that will allow the company to provide local services and solutions to propane customers throughout the country, according to the company.

Legacy Energy Consulting facilitated the sale of San Isabel Services Propane. It is the second completed deal for Legacy this year and its 14th overall since the business was founded by Chad Pendill in June 2020.
