EDP acquires Ebbetts Pass Gas Service

January 10, 2019 By

Energy Distribution Partners acquired Ebbetts Pass Gas Service with operations in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range of California.

Ebbetts Pass Gas Service was started in 1942 by Harold and Yolanda Mosbaugh to provide propane to local mills for kiln drying lumber. The operation expanded into residential and commercial propane and expanded further into gasoline, diesel and sand and gravel sales. Today the operation serves more than 8,000 customers in Calaveras and Alpine counties in California, about 100 miles southeast of Sacramento.

“When we decided to transition our business, we looked for a quality company to assume ownership of Ebbetts Pass,” says Dean Korbelik, one of the managers at Ebbetts Pass Gas Service. “We selected EDP because of its reputation for treating employees well, providing excellent service to customers and for remaining active supporters of the local community. We are confident we’re leaving our company in good hands with the EDP team.”

Dean and Rodney Korbelik, grandsons of the Mosbaughs, have managed the business in recent years. Yolanda Mosbaugh has remained active in running the company, EDP explains.

“We are extremely pleased to assume ownership of Ebbetts Pass Gas Service,” says Tom Knauff, CEO of EDP. “Dean and Rodney Korbelik and the Mosbaugh family have run a very successful business and established an excellent reputation in the communities they service. We look forward to welcoming their employees to EDP and to continuing to provide exceptional service to Ebbetts Pass customers across their service area.”
