EDP acquires propane operation in central Ohio

December 3, 2018 By

Energy Distribution Partners (EDP) acquired Sunrise Cooperative’s propane operation located near Lancaster, Ohio.

The Lancaster location serves more than 2,300 residential and commercial customers on the east side of Columbus, Ohio. The operation will be rebranded as United Propane and will offer some delivery blending efficiencies with BrightStar Propane, located in Westerville, Ohio, EDP says. All employees of the propane division at the Lancaster operation have become EDP employees, the company adds.

“The acquisition of Sunrise Cooperative’s Lancaster propane operation is our sixth in Ohio and our 20th overall,” says Tom Knauff, president and CEO of EDP. “It gives us the opportunity to expand our presence in the state, and this operation will offer some nice efficiencies of delivery with our BrightStar operation in Westerville. We are delighted to welcome the Lancaster employees to EDP and have assured the Sunrise team that we will take exceptional care of their customers. We also remain committed to involvement in the Lancaster community.”
