EDP buys second Anderson family propane company
Chicago, Illinois-based Energy Distribution Partners (EDP) has acquired Mount Perry Propane, headquartered in Mount Perry, Ohio.
Founded in 2010 by Jordy and Sadie Anderson, Mount Perry Propane serves 2,800 residential, commercial and agricultural customers across nine counties in southeastern Ohio.
EDP previously purchased another Anderson family propane company in 2018 with the acquisition of Caldwell, Ohio-based Anderson Propane Services, owned by Jordy’s parents, Danny and Lisa Anderson.
“Choosing a buyer who would take good care of our employees was very important to us,” Jordy says. “Since EDP has maintained the legacy of my parents’ business – by taking excellent care of both their employees and their customers – it made sense for us to entrust EDP with our company, as well. We are confident we’ve made the right choice.”
EDP President and CEO Tom Knauff launched EDP in 2012, and Mount Perry Propane marks EDP’s 35th acquisition.
“Four years after purchasing Anderson Propane, we are thrilled that Jordy and Sadie Anderson also chose EDP when it came time to sell their business,” Knauff says. “They have built a great reputation for providing exceptional service to their customers and being active in the local communities. We look forward to continuing that legacy and to welcoming their employees to the EDP family.”
EDP serves customers across 19 states and ranks ninth in LP Gas’ 2023 Top Propane Retailers ranking for highest gallon sales.
