Enterprise adds a seventh NGL fractionator at Mont Belvieu
Enterprise Products Partners L.P. completed the addition of a seventh natural gas liquids (NGL) fractionator at its complex in Mont Belvieu, Texas. According to Enterprise, the fractionator will facilitate increasing NGL production from domestic shale plays, including the Eagle Ford in south Texas and other basins in the Rocky Mountain region.
In addition, Enterprise CEO Michael Creel says an eighth fractionator should be in service later this year in Mont Belvieu. Combined, the seventh and eighth fractionators will increase total capacity to 655,000 barrels per day (bpd). Three years ago, Enterprise says its capacity was about 400,000 bpd.
The seventh and eighth fractionators are being developed as part of a joint venture with Western Gas Partners, an affiliate of Anadarko Petroleum Corp. Enterprise will operate the new units, and it owns a 75 percent interest in the two fractionators.
