Federated Co-ops hires CEO to replace general manager
Federated Co-ops Inc.’s board of directors selected Michael McMahon to be the company’s CEO and replace the general manager who retired in September.
The company says McMahon will replace Tim Kavanaugh, who worked for Federated Co-ops for more than 30 years. As a general manager, Kavanaugh oversaw four mergers that brought together 12 local cooperatives.
In the new position, McMahon will oversee all functions at Federated Co-ops. Prior to joining the company, he worked at the The Schwan Food Co. as senior vice president and general manager where he managed revenue and services to more than 1.8 million customers in 48 states.
Federated Co-ops, based in Princeton, Minn., is a diversified business that provides propane, energy products and farm supplies at 43 locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
