Ferrellgas acquires Service Plus Propane

Ferrellgas acquired Service Plus Propane Inc., an independent propane retailer based in South Hill, Virginia.

According to Ferrellgas, the acquisition is expected to help grow its footprint in the eastern region of the United States. Service Plus Propane has been a local provider of agricultural, residential, industrial and commercial propane service to Mecklenburg County and the surrounding counties in southern Virginia since the company was founded in 2005. Terms of the transaction were not made public.

“Service Plus is a well-run business focused on local service and support,” says Jim Ferrell, president and interim CEO of Ferrellgas.

Ferrell emphasizes personal relationships and service in the company’s acquisitions, saying, “We plan to continue doing business as neighbors and are committed to growing to meet the needs of our customers.”
