Ferrellgas Partners acquires Viking Propane

Ferrellgas Partners LP acquired Viking Propane, an independent propane company based in Madison, Calif. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“Viking Propane offers a tremendous complement to the already strong Ferrellgas footprint in north central California, and allows us to extend our service territory west of Sacramento,” says Steve Wambold, Ferrellgas president and CEO.

The deal marks Ferrellgas’ fourth retail propane acquisition this fiscal year, which began August 1. It acquired Country Boys Gas of Commerce, Ga., on March 27; Motor Propane Service of Manitowoc and Sheboygan, Wis., on December 23 and KanGas Corp. of Basehor, Kan., on November 25. Ferrellgas announced May 1 that it established a midstream division with the purchase of Sable Environmental LLC and a related entity.
