The Illinois Alternative Fuel Alliance plans to host an alternative fuel vehicle and technology information session and expo for legislative officials, state employees and the general public from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. May 10 at the Illinois Capitol building in Springfield, Illinois.

Illinois Alternative Fuel Alliance partners include the Chicago Area Clean Cities, St. Louis Regional Clean Cities, the American Lung Association, Renewable Energy Group and the Illinois Propane Gas Association. According to Chicago Area Clean Cities, the event will highlight various projects and businesses that are using alternative fuel vehicles, including propane autogas.

The event will feature information tables around the Capitol’s rotunda and a concurrent static vehicle display north of the Capitol on Monroe Street, Chicago Area Clean Cities says. More than a dozen alternative fuel vehicles will be showcased, including those that run on propane, biodiesel, ethanol, electricity and natural gas. In addition, regional stakeholders and partners will be available to help attendees learn about the benefits of the technologies on display.

“We’ve put together the Illinois Alternative Fuel Alliance to help public officials in Illinois learn about clean-vehicle technologies and to help them understand what is happening with alternative fuel vehicles,” says John Walton, chairman of Chicago Area Clean Cities. “It’s amazing to see these groups come together to promote clean fuels and clean vehicles.”
