IrrigationSRC Power Systems’ 8.8-liter propane irrigation engine offers farmers an alternative to Tier 4 diesel engines. SRC says the 8.8-liter engine is its highest horsepower propane engine. According to the company, farmers running an engine an average of 1,000 hours per year can save up to $3,000 in annual fuel costs compared with similar diesel engines. When used for agricultural applications, SRC says the 8.8-liter engine offers about 30 to 40 more horsepower than similar diesel engines, making it ideal for pumping deep irrigation wells.
