Kansas co-ops combine to form Co-Ag Propane

June 13, 2018 By

Beginning July 1, Agri Trails Coop in Hope, Kansas, and Cooperative Grain & Supply in Hillsboro, Kansas, will join forces and begin delivering propane and servicing residential, agricultural and commercial propane customers throughout both companies’ trade territories under the name Co-Ag Propane.

The board of directors from each co-op unanimously approved the formation of the partnership. The partnership will create a large service area with the ability and support to expand as the company grows.

“Partnering the two co-ops will provide the communities we already serve with a locally owned and operated propane option,” says Jerry Fenske, general manager of Cooperative Grain & Supply. “In an area where a lot of choices are disappearing, we are excited to have the opportunity to add instead of take away.”

According to Darel Anderson, general manager of Agri Trails Coop, both co-ops share similar values, such as providing excellent customer service and strengthening the local community. Co-Ag Propane will operate under the same principles, he says.

Customers do not need to be a member of either co-op to be a propane customer.
