June 16, 2012 By

Art Ogden of L.P. Transportation received the Howard Card Safety Award at the New Jersey Propane Gas Association’s (NJPGA) annual meeting and awards ceremony held earlier this year. Ogden was recognized for his dedication to the safe and efficient transport of propane throughout the Northeast.

Ogden, pictured with his award and Allied Propane’s John Reilly, began his career in propane more than 30 years ago as a safety supervisor for L.P. Transportation. He now serves as the company’s chairman and CEO in Chester, N.Y.

Several other awards were distributed at the NJPGA annual meeting, as well. Eastern Propane’s Michael Borell was named Bobtail Driver of the Year, Eastern Propane’s Sue Bridge was named Office Person of the Year, and Suburban Propane’s Richard Soleri earned Service Person of the Year honors.

In addition to distributing awards, NJPGA elected new officers for 2012-2013. J.D. Stem of Stem Brothers (president), Ed Boden of AmeriGas Propane (vice president), Michael Merrill of Industrial Propane and Reclamation (treasurer), Chris Cafarella of Inergy Propane (secretary), Larry Horowitz of Dustin’s Mechanical LLC (immediate past president) and Robert Nicholson III of Eastern Propane Corp. (national/state director) will serve the association.
