MOPERC elects industry leadership for 2022
The Missouri Propane Education & Research Council (MOPERC) elected several local propane professionals to serve as directors and officers.
The council installed its new leadership at the group’s winter meeting in Ridgedale, Missouri. The new group had been approved at the MOPERC fall meeting in Jefferson City, Missouri, and includes representatives from across the state.
Officers elected were:
- Chair – James Greer, MFA Oil.
- Vice chair – John Brokes, Big River Oil.
- Treasurer – Tim Peach, Pinnacle Propane.
Eight directors were appointed to three-year terms:
- Mitch Dane, Chilton Oil.
- John Fling, GASCO-Ferrellgas.
- Russ Bales, Heritage Propane.
- Brian Books, Brooks Gas.
- John Brokes, Big River Oil.
- Mark Porth, CHS, reappointed.
- Kent Metcalf, Queen City Gas, reappointed.
- Tim Peach, Pinnacle Propane, reappointed.
Outgoing directors were recognized for their service to the council: Nick Goodrich, Goodrich Gas, and Derek Poe, AmeriGas.
Outgoing chair Mark Porth, CHS, was also recognized for his year of leadership.
Directors continuing on the council are: Jeff Reitz, Central States Bus; Wayne Terpstra, ThompsonGas; Samantha Reed-Johnson, Reed Oil; Ray Phillips, Growmark Energy; Steve Clayton, Gas Equipment Co.; and Luke Fitzpatrick, MFA Oil.
Steve Ahrens continues to serve as MOPERC president.
MOPERC is a not-for-profit organization authorized by the Missouri legislature to administer a statewide check-off program. Proceeds are used for industry training, consumer safety, appliance rebates and market development programs, MOPERC says. The council is composed of 15 volunteer directors and is administered by executive staff.
