Natural gas engine manufacturer purchases Prins
Natural gas engine technology company Westport Innovations Inc. acquired Prins, a developer of propane autogas vehicle conversion systems, for about $15 million.
In addition to developing propane fuel systems for light-, medium- and heavy-duty applications, Prins makes compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) systems. According to a press release, Prins’ European operations will be combined under the Westport Applied Technologies business unit.
