Navistar recalls certain IC Bus CE series school buses

March 5, 2018 By

Navistar Inc. is recalling certain 2016-19 IC Bus CE series school buses equipped with 8.8-liter LP gas engines.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the LPDM relay for the propane booster pump and the scavenge relay may intermittently fail, causing the pump to stop. If the fuel pump stops, the bus will stall, increasing the risk of crash. More than 1,000 units are potentially affected.

Navistar will notify affected owners, and dealers will replace the LPDM relay, free of charge, according to the recall notice. The recall is expected to begin April 20. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 800-327-4236. The recall number is 18501.
