North Dakota farmers co-op merges with CHS

Dakota Plains Cooperative, a farmers cooperative headquartered in Valley City, N.D., with 15 locations in central and southeast North Dakota, is merging with CHS Inc. Ninety-two percent of Dakota Plains Cooperative members approved the merger in a vote. The merger will be effective Jan. 1, 2014.

According to a press release, Dakota Plains Cooperative offers farmers and ranchers agronomy, seed, feed and energy services and products. In addition, Dakota Plains Cooperative’s Ken Astrup will remain as general manager.
