Parkland Fuel acquires Girard Bulk Service’s propane assets

Parkland Fuel Corp., a distributor and marketer of fuels and lubricants, signed an agreement to purchase assets from Girard Bulk Service Ltd.’s propane business in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Girard Bulk Service’s propane business serves commercial and residential customers in southeastern Saskatchewan.

Bob Espey, Parkland’s president and CEO, says the acquisition complements the company’s existing operations in the region. Parkland’s agreement with Girard Bulk Service is expected to close in May.

Paul Lapensee, Parkland’s vice president of commercial operations, says Parkland will serve Girard Bulk Service’s propane customers under the Bluewave Energy banner. He adds the company wants to welcome team members from Girard Bulk Service to Parkland.
