PERC seeks comments on 2021 communications program

January 20, 2021 By

The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) is looking to spend about $9.9 million on a communications program for 2021 but first is seeking industry and public comments through Feb. 8.

By rule, PERC must solicit comments before approving any proposed project costing $1.5 million or more.

The integrated communications and marketing docket encompasses total 2021 programming for all markets, environmental thought leadership, corporate communications, as well as digital development and reporting.

According to the docket, the guiding principle of the messaging in 2021 will prove that “Propane Can Do That” by providing “Truth in Energy.” PERC’s “Propane Can Do That” tagline underscores propane’s versatility across markets. “Truth in Energy” provides the environmental thought leadership messaging the council has explored for over a year.

Leaders from both PERC and the National Propane Gas Association have discussed rolling out an industrywide, unified environmental messaging plan in 2021.

PERC’s 2021 communications program also looks to improve its website, propane.com, by providing fresh and relevant content, an enhanced user experience, and ultimately drive site visitors to adopt propane for their home or business by searching for a propane retailer.

If approved, the new program would begin Feb. 10 and end Dec. 31.

PERC is scheduled to meet virtually on Feb. 10 and April 22, with its next in-person meeting scheduled for July 20-21 in Beaver Creek, Colorado, and then Nov. 10-11 in Destin, Florida.
