Phillips 66 teams with campaign to hire military veterans

March 1, 2016 By

Phillips 66 partnered with Hiring Our Heroes, a grassroots campaign, to recruit military veterans to its company.

According to a Phillips 66 press release, veterans and transitioning service members sometimes have difficulty communicating their skills and military background in terms that civilian employers can understand. Hiring Our Heroes, sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, works to connect veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses with jobs.

Sonya Reed, senior vice president of human resources for Phillips 66, says the Hiring Our Heroes campaign fits well with the company’s values.

“Veterans share our company’s values of safety, honor and commitment,” Reed says. “This partnership will help us create a pipeline of qualified employees, as well as raise the visibility of Phillips 66 as an employer of choice for transitioning military service members.”
