Power Solutions International co-founder, CEO retires

June 26, 2019 By

Gary Winemaster, the co-founder and former CEO of Power Solutions International Inc. (PSI), is set to retire after 34 years at the company.

Winemaster and his father, William Winemaster, founded the alternative-fuel power systems manufacturer in 1985.

“I am retiring incredibly proud of what PSI has accomplished over the years, and I have been honored to lead our company,” Winemaster says. “With the support of PSI’s strong management team, expanded product offerings and the foundation of our partnership with Weichai, I am confident PSI is in good hands and will continue to build on the growth and tradition of delivering value to its customers.”

Winemaster served as CEO and president of Power Great Lakes since 1992, which, prior to its incorporation in 2001, was the parent organization of PSI and is currently a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. Winemaster ended his tenure as CEO and president before transitioning to chief strategy officer to focus on developing a relationship with Weichai – the company’s strategic investor and collaboration partner – in 2017. Winemaster also served as the chairman of the board from 2001 through 2017.

“On behalf of everyone at PSI we wish Gary the best in his retirement and look forward to building on the accomplishments of PSI,” says John Miller, CEO of PSI.
