Snapper Creek Energy launches physical LPG brokerage desk

March 13, 2024 By

Snapper Creek Energy, a data-driven commodity brokerage specializing in traditional, renewable and transitional energy markets, launched its physical liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) brokerage desk.

In conjunction with the launch, Deacon Shorr joined the firm as president of the LPG desk alongside Jake Shorr, vice president LPG; Scott Gray, LPG broker; and Nick Teasdale, LPG broker.

Based in California, Deacon Shorr, who served as president of Libra Fearnley Energy for the past 11 years, brings a wealth of experience in the physical LPG markets to Snapper Creek, according to the company. He will be joined by Teasdale, based in the firm’s London office, who joins Snapper Creek with more than 30 years of industry experience and previously served as an LPG marketing manager at Saudi Petroleum Overseas Ltd.

“We are pleased to launch our LPG desk under Deacon’s leadership as we continue to diversify our offerings and further expand our global footprint,” says Sid Perkins, co-founder and CEO of Snapper Creek. “Deacon is a savvy energy industry professional with deep relationships across the industry, and we are delighted to welcome him and his experienced team to Snapper Creek.

“As we continue to expand Snapper Creek’s offerings as a trusted brokerage partner, we are excited by the opportunity to strategically scale our business and add a best-in-class team of industry professionals,” Perkins adds. “Deacon and the rest of the LPG desk are well positioned for long-term success, and we look forward to leveraging their expertise across the energy markets to continue to create value for our current and future clients.”

Shorr entered the LPG industry in 1983 as a broker for Fearngas in New York City. After spending five years as a broker, he began his trading career with Trammo Gas in London and later joined Ferrell International as a managing director. During his tenure, he established Ferrell International as one of the top LPG trading houses in the industry, Snapper Creek says. In 2013, he rejoined the Fearnleys Group as president, based in Paris, and eventually in Santa Barbara, California, where he currently resides.

“We are excited to join Snapper Creek and spearhead the launch of the LPG desk at this pivotal moment in the firm’s evolution,” Shorr says. “We look forward to bringing our extensive experience across the global physical LPG markets to Snapper Creek’s growing business, and to continue to deliver the tailored services to which our customers are accustomed.”

Snapper Creek Energy was founded in 2023 by energy industry veterans Sid Perkins and Ike Perkins, providing market analytics, brokerage, and advisory solutions. The firm services a diverse array of clients globally, including banks, macro hedge funds, specialized oil and gas investment funds, trading firms, market makers and oil companies, among others, according to the company.
