Superior Propane fuels propane buses for major Canadian school district

Superior Propane partnered with Southland Transportation in Canada to fuel 101 school buses for the Calgary Board of Education. Southland switched from diesel-fueled buses to propane in an effort to increase vehicle efficiency, provide cleaner fuel and improve engine reliability. Tom Jezersek, vice president of Southland Transportation, says the Superior Propane-fueled buses have been easier to start in cold temperatures than diesel buses.

Southland Transportation installed Superior Propane’s refueling dispensers at its site, which Jezersek says makes bus service simpler.

“This has eliminated a time-consuming journey to fill up, saving Southland additional maintenance and fuel costs, while also helping us lower our carbon footprint,” Jezersek says.
