Texas school district to buy 27 propane-fueled buses

The Humble Independent School District in Humble, Texas, was awarded a $2.9 million grant to buy 27 propane-fueled school buses, the Houston Business Journal reported. The funding is offered through a grant from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Texas Railroad Commission and the Texas Parent Teacher Association. The district estimates that it will save $75,000 in annual operating expenses by using the buses.
