TPPRF golf tournament raises more than $138,000 for propane assistance fund

The Propane and Power Relief Fund (TPPRF) hosted its second annual charity golf tournament Sept. 10 at Mattaponi Springs Golf Club in Ruther Glen, Virginia, drawing 82 golfers along with sponsors and supporters from the propane industry.

The tournament raised more than $138,000 in sponsorships and donations, up from $120,000 at last year’s event. Proceeds support TPPRF’s mission of providing propane and power assistance to families in need.

A Long Drive hole featuring Scottie Pearman, the world’s top-ranked long-drive competitor, generated more than $16,000 for the fund. Golfers also had a chance to win a Ford F-250 with a hole-in-one, a prize sponsored by Ted Britt Ford; no one made the shot.

Three teams topped the leaderboard:

• First place: Todd Beasley, Paul Harris, Jeff Grizzard and Max Pace
• Second place: Tim Carlson, Nicole Sullivan, Jamie Devens and Tucker Perkins
• Third place: Paul Bavely, Maurice Kiely, Nathan Bonds and Joe Kiely

This year’s tournament theme was “Honor, Remember, Rebuild.” TPPRF says the event was supported by sponsors covering beverage carts, transportation, meals, the driving range, putting green and hole sponsorships, along with individual donations.

Next year’s tournament is scheduled for Sept. 9.
