February 15, 2017 By

The Williams Companies Inc. named Michael Dunn as its executive vice president and chief operating officer. Dunn, who will assume the role on Feb. 27, will report to Alan Armstrong, president and CEO of Williams.

In this newly created role, Dunn will focus on optimizing operations to enhance the company’s competitive advantage, as well as its long-term growth strategy.

Dunn most recently served as president of Questar Pipeline and executive vice president of Questar Corp. He also served as president and CEO of PacifiCorp Energy from 2010 to 2015.

“We are very excited that Mike is joining the Williams management team as chief operating officer,” Armstrong says. “He is an outstanding leader with extensive engineering, project management and operating experience in our industry, including more than 25 years in technical and executive management positions at natural gas transmission and pipeline companies.”

Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Williams is a provider of large-scale infrastructure connecting U.S. natural gas and natural gas products to growing demand for cleaner fuel and feedstocks.
