Winnebago offering propane, bi-fuel options for bus line

September 5, 2014 By

Winnebago Industries Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of recreational vehicles, announced a new propane autogas-based green initiative with its Metro Link bus.

Through a partnership with ICOM North America, Winnebago is offering bi-fuel and dedicated LP gas products in its Metro Link bus lineup for the public and private transportation industry. The partnership allows Winnebago and its official distributor, Metro Worldwide, to install and distribute the ICOM bi-fuel and mono-fuel liquid propane injection system in the Metro Link bus products.

According to a company press release, the partnership will allow alternative fuel work-ready equipment from the factory to the dealers and end users. Metro Worldwide will also offer ICOM propane conversions for existing bus fleets as well as full-line sales, service, installation and warranty services.

The Propane Education & Research Council will display a bi-fuel Metro Link bus at the BusCon Expo on Sept. 15-17 in Indianapolis.
