PEP is a more modern, modular and customizable approach designed to meet the diverse needs of the many propane marketers in the industry. Make this shift work for your business by implementing it in these three steps:

1. Build custom training paths around your business needs. PEP is built to allow your business to build training that is right for you and your employees. Start by mapping your job roles and responsibilities and select all modules that align with those tasks in your business model. For example, if your bobtail drivers regularly interact with customers, include the customer service training in their learning path. This level of customization prepares employees for all aspects of their specific job.

2. Implement training intentionally. Choose a delivery method that sets your employees up for success. PEP allows for classroom training, internal instruction or self-paced e-learning modules. A recommended approach is to build a training plan that combines theory with practice and allows learners to work hands-on more immediately after instruction to reinforce the lesson and build confidence in their new skills.

3. Monitor, track and engage to determine the effectiveness of your plan. Training doesn’t end when the tests are passed. For a truly superior training experience, engage with your employees regularly through ride-alongs, performance reviews and spot checks, and adjust your training plan as needed. Encourage employees to continue training on their own to learn and grow in new areas. Actively monitoring training ensures that your plan leads to safe and effective work practices.
