Allen’s Oil & Propane grows in New Jersey

Allen’s Oil & Propane of Vincentown and Hammonton, New Jersey, acquired Penn-Jersey Propane of Hainesport, New Jersey.

Penn-Jersey Propane operates a bulk plant and several bobtail trucks used to service its customer base in New Jersey. Prior to this transaction, the company was owned and operated by Kauffman Gas, based in Atglen, Pennsylvania.

Allen’s Oil & Propane has serviced residences and businesses in southern New Jersey since 1919. Acquiring Penn-Jersey Propane enables Allen’s Oil & Propane to expand into additional New Jersey markets.

Vantage Commercial served as sell-side adviser. Ken Richardson, executive director at Vantage Commercial, worked with Chris Kauffman, owner of Kauffman Gas, to source a buyer for the off-market asset. Richardson secured an interested party within weeks of ownership deciding to sell the company, according to Vantage Commercial.

Jason Allen of Allen’s Oil & Propane was the lead on the buyer’s side. The entire Allen family participated in the negotiations and discussions.
