May 1, 2023 By

American Welding & Gas (AWG) purchased TriCounty Gas, headquartered in Buffalo, Wyoming.

TriCounty Gas is locally owned and operated by Tom Weber.

“There comes a time when it’s a smart decision to ask for help,” says Weber, owner and president of TriCounty Gas. “That time has come for me, and that is why I am pleased to be handing the baton over to American Welding & Gas to take TriCounty to the next level of excellence.”

Since 2004, TriCounty Gas has built a strong reputation for prompt, professional service for its gas customers, according to AWG.

“Tom Weber and his team have built a strong propane company known for its safety and customer service excellence,” says Jason Krieger, president and CEO of AWG. “This will be our first stand-alone propane location in the great state of Wyoming, and we are so thankful that Tom trusted AWG with the business and team he built. Tom’s team of Bill, Breann and Adam will stay with AWG and continue to grow the business on the foundation Tom built.”

AWG, headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, produces and distributes industrial, medical, beverage and specialty gases. It distributes propane in Montana and Wyoming through its Silvertip Propane and Axmen Propane brands. Founded in 1949, AWG operates more than 80 retail locations and 19 gas fill plants in a range stretching from Kalispell, Montana, to Pennsylvania and down through Texas to Orlando, Florida.
