Thirty-six years after first walking through the Dead River Co. doors, Deanna Sherman, president and CEO, will retire at the end of June and transition to the role of senior adviser, the company says.

Current COO Casey Cramton will become Dead River’s new president and CEO, effective July 1.

“I could not be more pleased that Casey Cramton will become the new president and CEO,” Sherman says. “Throughout his career, which started in 1989 as a manager trainee, Casey has always been ready and eager to take on more responsibility. His leadership and experience within both the industry and company earned him his appointment to COO when I became president in 2016.

“I am certain Casey will bring a fresh perspective to the office, and under his guidance, Dead River Co. will continue to serve our customers and our communities just as we always have,” Sherman adds.

Cramton is a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire.

“The faith Deanna has shown in me, and the commitment all Dead River employees give to this company and our customers, make it exciting to come to work every day,” Cramton says. “Deanna has done an exemplary job of leading this organization, most recently through the pandemic. We have continued to grow while remaining true to our motto of ‘delivering on a promise’ to our customers and the communities we serve.”

He adds: “Our company is strong, and I am humbled and honored to be asked to lead this talented team into the future. I’m confident we’ll do great things together.”
