F.W. Webb opens store and warehouse in Amherst, New York

F.W. Webb Co. opened a 140,000-sq.-ft. store and warehouse in Amherst, New York, expanding the company’s presence in the Greater Buffalo market.
The self-service store sells plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and industrial products to contractors, facility operators and other trade professionals. It includes a 12,500-sq.-ft. self-service counter area, a 65,500-sq.-ft. warehouse and a 3-acre paved outdoor storage yard with racks for additional inventory. Customers can pick up orders at a drive-through pipe barn or a will-call center and can order by phone, text or the new F.W. Webb mobile app. A training center with space for more than 40 participants will host product education and certification classes meant to help professionals keep up with new technologies and regulations.
“We’ve developed strong relationships with trade professionals through our stores in upstate New York and across the Northeast, and we see a significant opportunity to build on that success in the Buffalo area,” says Bob Mucciarone, COO of F.W. Webb.
F.W. Webb entered the Buffalo market in 2022 by acquiring Stritt and Prieb Inc. The wholesale counter at its existing facility on Clyde Avenue is moving to Amherst, while the Clyde Avenue location will become a valve repair, testing and maintenance shop operated by Alliance Specialty Group, an F.W. Webb subsidiary. The shop serves customers in the industrial, institutional, utility and power generation sectors.
“We look forward to working with trade professionals across the Greater Buffalo region and introducing them to the products and services we offer through our diverse areas of expertise, including plumbing, heating, HVAC/R, LP gas, industrial and more,” says Michael Schultz, general manager of F.W. Webb’s Amherst operations.
More than 40 employees have moved from the Buffalo location to Amherst, and the company plans to hire 15 more. Openings are listed at fwwebb.com/careers. The store is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
A 6,230-sq.-ft. Frank Webb Home bath, kitchen and lighting showroom will open at the facility in 2027. It will include working displays, bathroom vignettes and fixtures, and consultants will help homeowners, designers and contractors select products for remodeling or new construction. More information will be posted at frankwebb.com.
The Amherst opening is part of F.W. Webb’s expansion in the Northeast. The company opened facilities in Rochester and Canastota, New York, in 2025. This year, it opened stores in Somerdale, New Jersey, and Central Islip, New York, and moved to new buildings in Whippany, New Jersey, and Queensbury, New York. F.W. Webb plans to open its second central distribution warehouse in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, next year.
